Empleo de Audiovisual translator and localization
With this letter I hereby would like to express my motivation for an internship period as translator among your translation team.With an Undergraduate Degree in Translation and Interpreting, and studying a Master’s Degree in Audiovisual Translation, I would like to concentrate on audiovisual translations. During my training as translator, I have translated texts related to different fields: sworn, technical, economic, and audiovisual texts. I would like to remark the reasons for which my candidature should be considered. As translator, I have been training in Granada (Andalusia) where is located one of the most prestigious Spanish translation school. Translators trained in Granada are well-known for their excellent skills working in teams: communication, management, organization and coordination. Moreover, as terminologists, we have the opportunity of being taught by Professor Pamela Faber, developer of the Frame-Based Terminology Approach. Focused on audiovisual translation, an elective course is offered to their students. After it, pupils are able to dubbing films, translating subtitles, and language localization. Nevertheless, it has been this field on which I would like to focus my professional career.
Having taken this course was the main reason for which I started a Master’s Degree in Audiovisual Translation. The experience of translating a videogame, dubbing films and localizing websites made me to keep in mind the idea of focusing my professional career in this field. Furthermore, audiovisual work teams use to work in a pleasant environment, as long as my experience proofs me that. The results of working with people who loves their job uses to be a commercial success.
As translator, I have been trained to work in a multicultural environment. Moreover, while I was studying in Maastricht, I integrated different group teams. There, I had the chance of working with people coming from other countries. These reasons enable me to work in a comfortable and multicultural environment. Moreover, I have worked as audiovisual translator during September 2014: a small dancing company asked me for translating its website as well as its dossier.
To my knowledge, your company is attracting motivated workers, but I am convinced that my academic experience and my motivation make me a strong recommendation for a place at it. I would be honored if you decide to accept my candidateship to part of your translation team.
